Jena Garwood is an outstanding horse trainer! She takes excellent care of the horses entrusted to her by various owners. She is very aware of the condition of each horse in her care. In the case of a change, she was calling us. We would discuss the issue & the appropriate course of action. We never had to wonder how he was because she would call again (within 24 hrs.) to keep us informed of what was happening. Proper care is one of her top priorities.
We learned about her through "high recommendations" from a top barrel horse trainer, who was full. We will be forever grateful to her, for sharing Jena's name & abilities with us. She has top quality work ethics & her training fees are more than reasonable, plus, she is very fair! Within herself, Jena is very competitive, has good morals & is extremely humble.
We visited her training facility several times over the next fifteen months, some planned, some not. We always found everything to be in order. All of the horses were looking good, with nice hay & clean pens. She is very organized & sends out a monthly invoice with an itemized, daily summary. We really appreciated her attention to detail through every aspect of the process. She is very professional.
In 2013, Jena successfully campaigned Moreau Frenchman Guy for us, in 10 very tough barrel futurities, as well as other barrel & pole bending competitions. We are looking forward to another competitive year in 2014 as she will be running our other son of Frenchmans Guy - My Friend Billy!
We would be happy to visit with anyone, anytime about our experience with Jena Garwood. We feel, "Anyone who takes a quality horse to her for training, should be happy with the horse when she is done!" As long as we are in this "barrel horse" part of our lives, Jena will always be our trainer.
Best of luck to all of us in 2014,
Thanks again, Jena!

I sent Jena a mare that I was praying would turn out to be a horse I could run barrels on, but also use on the ranch to move cattle and be a pleasure to ride. The mare was 5, but acted like a 2 year old with absolutely NO manners! When I got this mare back from Jena, I was sooooo pleased! Not only can this mare run barrels, but she is an absolute pleasure to be around! She loves moving cattle, and respects me and my space! My husband wanted to sell the mare to buy more "Guy" things, BUT. . . after getting her back and seeing what a GREAT horse she turned out to be, he NOW says she will probably end up retiring on our place to live her life out! I asked Jena to reserve an opening for our next young horse for training. Jena is priced RIGHT and always FAIR! Love her! Love what she does with a horse! We will be back again and AGAIN!

"I didn't mean to not give credit for the four weeks of basics Jena Garwood, a colt and Futurity trainer at Atkinson NE, put on my horse Hopes Money Boy. I was on the road and needed him ridden to keep advancing. I'd always admired Jena's patterns on her futurity horses and she did a great job on mine. I had started his barrels in my barn but not in the open. Since he had ran off with two different guys when he was getting broke and they were out in the open. Jena worked on basics with no fence and when I got him back he loped a nice pattern. She rode his first two competition runs at Broken Bow, NE. I believe she placed in the 4D with him."
