Miles' career and roping are his passions. Miles is a financial advisor with Waddell and Reed, with his main office being located in their hometown of Atkinson, Nebraska. Miles has calf roped and team roped his entire life, with many accomplishments ranging from state 4-H titles, two Nebraska High School calf roping championships, College National Finals qualifications and placings (4th in average in 2006), and a qualification for the PRCA Badlands Circuit Finals in the calf roping.
Jena's (maiden name Lien) passion in life has always been rodeo. She has won goat tying, pole bending, and all-around titles in high school and college. She was fortunate to qualify for the National High School Rodeo Finals and the College National Finals Rodeo three years in barrel racing, goat tying, and pole bending, and is now focused on training futurity and barrel horses, after taking many equine training classes through the former Equine Management program at National American University in Rapid City, South Dakota (where she and Miles met).
